Exciting news! Dr. Theuns Henning, our CEO, has been honoured by Āpōpō with Life Membership at their recent AGM, where they shared his outstanding contributions to the industry, both domestically and on the global stage, which we've summarised below.
“Theuns is the Chief Executive Officer at Infrastructure Decision Support NZ (IDS NZ), a charitable purposes subsidiary of Āpōpō – Infrastructure Asset Management Professionals Inc. Since 1999, Theuns has been part of the original implementation of Deighton Associates Limited's dTIMS (asset management modelling software) into New Zealand and continues to manage the national distribution and implementation of this tool.
Serving on the Roading Infrastructure Management Support Group (RIMS) committee from 1999 to 2015, Theuns managed and authored the Six Road RIMS Body of Knowledge Guidelines. He has also completed 18 NZTA Research reports covering a wide spectrum of asset management and condition data collection projects that resulted in national guidelines.
At The University of Auckland, Theuns is the Director of the Infrastructure Management Postgraduate Programme. This is a new postgraduate degree and diploma in asset management allowing for cross-disciplinary training of the future asset managers for New Zealand.
Internationally, Theuns has completed several projects for the World Bank, supporting countries with the integration of climate resilience into asset management. These countries include the Philippines, South Africa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, St Vincent, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is also the primary author of four World Bank Guidelines for developing countries.”
Kudos to Theuns, and congratulations from all of the IDS team. 🙌
